Maternity Photography

A mother’s joy begins when new life is stirring inside… when a tiny heartbeat is heard for the very first time, and a playful kick reminds her that she is never alone. ~ Author Unknown

Maternity portraits isn’t just family photos taken when you’re pregnant. I like to think of it as a dedicated time to celebrate the family that you have been up until this point, the family you are right now and the family you are about to become. You current baby won’t be the baby anymore and the attention and energy will shift in your home and amongst each other. It can be scary but it’s also something precious and wonderful! Whether this is your first or your third (or more!) once baby is born, your lives will forever be changed and it’s so special to take the time to document the beauty and love you have in the here and now.

When is the best time to take maternity photos?

Ideally, maternity photos should be scheduled when you are 27-32 weeks pregnant. That way you have a nice belly to show off but you aren’t quite in your third trimester, when you may begin to feel a bit heavy and lethargic. I’ve been there and I’d want to make sure you are feeling your best for your beautiful session! Maternity photos can take place in one of numerous locations outdoors in the beautiful South Bay, which we’ll discuss once you book!

When will I get to see my maternity photos?

You will be sent a private, online gallery of all of the images from your session within 3-4 weeks after your session. This gives me enough time to hand edit your photos and ensure the highest quality work for each of my clients. If you have a specific need for a given photo (baby shower or other event), simply let me know and I’ll be happy to accommodate.

Maternity photos start at $350 and include 10 hand edited digital photos, available for download, with the option to purchase additional files and prints directly from the gallery. Most clients choose to upgrade to the full gallery of digital images. You may also choose to purchase an 8x8” photo album including all of the images from the session.
